The Robotics Camp is designed for students who want to improve their English language skills through intensive English classes and experience hands-on learning to grow their understanding of science, technology, engineering, and math. The program curriculum offers an innovative language learning that incorporates real-world language use and a series of robotics workshop-style courses designed to develop student’s passion and skills in robotics, coding, programming, problem solving, scientific inquiry, teamwork, and engineering.
The Robotics Camp will beheld at Valencia College in Orlando, FL. The English part of the program consists of multiple levels from low beginner through high advanced, and is accredited by the Commission on English Language Program Accreditation (CEA). All instructors are highly qualified and have earned a Masters in TESOL. Students will learn real-world English and American culture and will improve their fluency, pronunciation, and grammatical accuracy.
At the Robotics workshops students will:
- Learn and explore the essential characteristics of robots as they design, program, control, explore real-world challenges, and investigate possible solutions;
- Immerse themselves into the world of Robotics and gain an understanding how its technology is enabling the next wave of innovators and entrepreneurs;
- Build and program missions (all programming tools are included);
- Apply core STEM principles to program and control a fully functional robot;
- Implement the Engineering Design Process as they design, build, test and improve robotic functions;
- Build a robot using the Lego Mindstorm kit and perform a presentation

The Java Simulation Game Developer Summer Camp is designed for teens who desire to learn a programming language and apply that knowledge to coding applications. In this camp, students will gain a better understanding of programming languages, applications, and object-oriented programming. They will learn problem solving, data structures, inheritance, duplication, branching and techniques as they build custom classes. By the end of camp, students will define rule sets for multiple characters that will battle it out in a text-based battle simulator application.

Full Sail Labs has been recognized as an Apple Distinguished School for its use of Apple hardware and software in its curriculum to empower students to create content and tell their story. Full Sail Labs’ connection to Full Sail University allows it to benefit from their campus, technology, and industry experts.
Full Sail Labs programs provide young creative minds with an educational experience focused on technology, science, art and media. Each camp features a 1:10 instructor-to-student ratio and accommodates up to 20 students. Classes are held Monday through Friday from 9AM until 5PM (40 hours per week).
During the Java Simulation Game Developer Summer Camp students will:
Explore fundamentals of solving problems by using proper naming conventions and unique identifiers
Identify concepts of constants and variables
Examine the type system, from the standard Swift library to custom types
Use parameters and return values to make functions more flexible and powerful
Program algorithms and use them for creative problem solving
FINAL PROJECT
A Character Battle Simulator derived of personally created custom classes and defined rule sets.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
This program does not include English classes, therefore students should have a high intermediate level of English to apply
There is a maximum number of 20 students per class so all enrollments are subject to availability
The majority of the students in this camp are local high school students, therefore international students will have a lot of interaction with American students during the program
